The 444.650 Millington repeater is back on the air
The Millington UHF repeater is back on the air thanks to a grant from Superior Communications. Tim KC8OYE and Clay KF8UI installed the new Bridgecom 40 watt UHF repeater on the WOWE 98.9 tower in Millington on Sunday 8/21/16. We noted that the repeater was deaf. The repeater antenna is about 15ft below the bottom of the WOWE antenna. On Friday 8/26/16 Clay hooked a spectrum analyzer to the duplexer feed going to the receiver and found major front end overload from the WOWE signal. A DCI UHF band pass filter was installed to reduce out of band signals. This made a major difference in the receive coverage. The next step will be upgrading the repeater antenna and installing a 220 link back to the 224.48 repeater in Flint. DE KF8UI
